SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma promised to enhance salary of all adhoc teachers of Meghalaya
The Federation of Meghalaya Adhoc Secondary Teachers Association (FAMASTA) along with the All Meghalaya Adhoc Upper Primary School Teachers Association (AMAUPSTA) met the chief minister at his residence on Tuesday.
In the meeting, Sangma said the state is facing financial constraint so it is not possible to upgrade all adhoc schools from Primary to Higher Secondary to deficit pattern as the expenditure will be more that Rs 700 crore monthly.
However, he assured salary increment.
In a statement issued here, secretary of FAMASTA, M. Pyrtuh expressed shock over the claims of some organisations that have “already announced and fooled the adhoc teachers of the state that the government is in process of the upgradation of adhoc schools to deficit system within 2019 which is not true and being teachers it is unwise to declare false messages to misguide the teaching fraternity.”
