NONGSTOIN: Local legislator Macmillan Byrsat has sought the intervention of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma after the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) submitted a memorandum against the move to shift the office of the Directorate of Field & Publicity from Nongstoin to Jowai.
Byrsat also urged the chief minister to hold talks with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on the matter and ensure that the office remains in Nongstoin.
The HYC submitted the memorandum after learning that the office of the Directorate of Field & Publicity at Ladweitang in Nongstoin, which was setup in 1999, would be shut down until further notice from July 2018 and shifted to Jowai.
