GUWAHATI: K Kasturirangan, Chairman of the Committee for Draft National Educational Policy 2019 has highly appreciated “the exceptional recommendations” from the various Vice Chancellors (VCs) of the universities of the North-Eastern regions who recently met in a brainstorming session under the initiative of Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor, University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM).
In the letter addressed to the USTM Chancellor, Kasturirangan stated: “I was delighted to receive the exceptional recommendations from the various VCs of the universities of the Northeastern regions who met under your chairmanship to discuss the various aspects of the Draft National Education Policy 2019. I am extremely pleased to note that each of the VCs of the universities of the North East as well as academics from the concerned institutions have made a very careful study of the policy report. This is well reflected in the kind of details that each of the participants had gone into with respect to this rather voluminous report”.
He further said that the inputs from the NE VCs would be studied with care and attention by a special committee.
The committee will consider all such inputs in the context of the necessary additions/changes that needed to be made to the draft policy report.
The recent brainstorming session on the National Education Policy organised by USTM was held on 22nd June which was participated by VCs & directors of various universities and NITs of the north-eastern region.
