Top district officials to review poor board results in SGH

TURA: South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, H B Marak has informed that to improve the education scenario in the district, top officials from the district would be sent to different Secondary and Higher Secondary schools of the district to inspect and observe the reason for the district’s poor performance in HSSLC and SSLC examinations.

Marak informed this during his recent meeting with educational heads of the district at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Baghmara.

According to the DC, teams headed by MCS and MPS officers of the district have already been constituted and the officials from district who will be leading the teams include, Baghmara BDO, S Ch Marak, Rongara BDO Issac Marak, Gasuapara BDO, Dr Diganto Hajong, Chokpot SDO Dolrich G Momin, Chokpot SDPO, Ravi K Sangma besides others.  

The District School Education Officer will be  accompanying the appointed team to all the secondary and higher secondary schools that falls under South Garo Hills District and will interact with the students and teachers of the schools and suggest measures for improvement of teaching methods, school environment and the requirements of any sort of training needed. They will also observe the availability and requirements of infrastructure in Schools and to suggest measures for enhancing the motivation level of the students and teachers, the DC added. The move happens to be the first of its kind undertaken in the district which is aimed at improving and uplifting the standard of education in South Garo Hills District as a whole.
