Madrid: Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says that this season he has no doubts that he is the top dog in the club goal.
The Belgian international is about to start his second season at the club after disappointing slightly last campaign after his arrival from Chelsea, with Zinedine Zidane giving some games to Keylor Navas after his return to the club towards then end of the campaign.
However, after a summer in which Navas has been linked to a possible move away from the Spanish capital, Courtois believes he is now the undisputed first choice keeper. “I think it is clear who is the number one now. I feel stronger than ever,” he said in an interview with Belgian newspaper “Het Nieuwsblad”.
Courtois said he had been working hard over the summer “I have trained hard and I am fit. At the end of last summer my percentage of body fat was 8.8 percent and I came back after the summer with it at 8.1 percent. I feel good and I hope to carry on like this,” he commented. The goalkeeper also discussed Eden Hazard after his international teammate also joined Real Madrid this summer. (UNI)
