Mawkyrwat MLA releases schemes worth Rs 2 crore

Mawkyrwat: HSPDP MLA from Mawkyrwat, Renik L Tongkhar on Wednesday released various schemes and projects worth Rs 2 crore in Mawkyrwat Constituency under the Special Rural Works Programme (SRWP) 2018-19 in the general meeting held at the office of the HSPDP at Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills District.
Assuring the people that the funds have been released to the beneficiaries in the most transparent manner, Tongkhar listed all the schemes and beneficiaries name (for public schemes) in the flex which he unveiled. The schemes include construction of footpaths, roads, school buildings, ponds, parking grounds, player dressing house, fencing, bus waiting shed, playground and public toilet.
Fulfilling the promises for bringing a college at Mawsaw village, 25 km from Mawkyrwat, Tongkhar also allotted Rs 10 lakh to the Rilang Education Society for its construction.
Rs 55.80 lakh was also allotted for providing assistance to 372 beneficiaries with 3 bundles of 24 CGI sheets and Rs.93.20 lakh was allotted for providing assistance for agricultural activities to 932 families with Rs.10,000 each beneficiary.
Tongkhar also said that all the schemes allotted should be properly implemented.
