SHILLONG: The attitude of the Government has been denounced by All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AZSU) and Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) while dealing with the case of James Todiuwang, a PHD student of NEHU, who died in a mysterious and controversial motor bike incident which occurred between Gate No. 2 and 3 of the university on March 17, last.

The AZSU and ZYF have alleged that despite numerous representations, the government has not initiated any investigation into the case. While expressing their anguish over the attitude of both the Government of Meghalaya and its counterpart in Manipur, the AZSU President, Pamei Tingenlung and ZYF President, Titus Kamei lamented in a joint statement, “Both these governments have exhibited more seriousness over the cases of Dana Sangma and Loitam Richard.” The students’ body also drew the attention of the Government to treat the case effectively and bring out the truth at the earliest.
