SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong defeated Laban SC by 4-0 in the Shillong Premier League match played today at the JN Stadium, Polo.
All the goals were scored in the second half as Naorem Mahesh and Donboklang Lyngdoh scored a goal each while Phrangki Buam scored twice.The first half wasn’t the most entertaining half. Lajong were the better side and had a couple of good chances but could not capitalize. In the second half, Lajong dominated proceedings and pressed their opponents. Laban meanwhile, could not create any real opportunities to trouble the Lajong keeper. Mahesh opened the scoring for Lajong in the 51st minute. Phrangki doubled the lead in the 55th minute. Donbok scored the third goal for Lajong in the 60th minute after using his pace to beat the defenders. Phrangki again scored in the 80th minute to give Lajong the 4-0 victory against Laban SC. Lajong will play next against Langsning SC on September 7 at 3:30pm.
