SHILLONG: A school student lost his life while twelve others were injured when a Sumo (AS 01 BC 1195) they were travelling on suffered a head-on collision with a truck (ML 05 F 9784) at Ryndang Briew, Mawlai Mawiong here on Friday.
The deceased, Kitboklang Dhar, was Class 10 student of St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.
Police informed that out of the 12 injured, six were admitted at the hospital while the other six were released after administration of first aid.
The driver of the truck has surrendered at Mawlai Police Station soon after the incident, police informed.
