Ban on plastic use

Shillong: The Executive Committee of the Dorbar Shnong Nongkhyriem, Nongthymmai held a meeting recently and decided to inform the residents and shop owners which falls under its jurisdiction to stop the use of plastic with effect from September 23.
The committee requests people to make use of the Pla-Iew and to co-operate with the Dorbar to ban the use of plastic.
Meawhile, the Harisabha Puja Committee has decided to adopt the Centre’s resolution to stop the complete use of plastics with an endeavour to save the environment.
The Committee, in its statement also affirmed that it will entreat the visitors to avoid the use of plastic bags within the temple premises.
