Teachers’ meet
A meeting of former Deficit School Teachers of the state will be held on September 28 at Mawkhar Christian Higher Secondary School, Mawkhar, Shillong. It will focus on the problems faced by retired deficit school teachers in primary, upper primary, secondary and higher secondary levels.

Human rights
The department of  Political Science, St. Mary’s  College in collaboration with Meghalaya Human Rights Commission will organise an awareness programme on Human Rights and  Issues  Relating to Rights of Women on September 30 in the college auditorium from 2pm. The chief guest will be former Chairperson, Meghalaya Human Rights commission, Dr Justice Aftab Hussain Saikia.

Rally
Workers’ Power of Meghalaya, a federation of progressive trade unions in Meghalaya, expressed its solidarity to the youths leading “Fridays For Future – Shillong” in their fight against climate change. The federation requests all  citizens to join the rally called by Friday For Future – Shillong on September 27 from Madan Iewrynghep to Additional Secretariat Parking Lot from 11am onwards.

Condolence
A condolence meeting was held in Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School to condole the demise of late SR Choudhury who was the secretary of the managing committee. A two minute silence was observed in his memory.
The members of Sanatan Dharmasabha condoled the demise of late Shomesh Ranjan Choudhury. They observed a minute of silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
