Centenary celebration of Tagore’s NE visit

SHILLONG: Various programmes in celebration of Rabindranath Tagore’s visit will be held at Brookside in Rilbong on October 11.
People will be able to pay tribute to the Nobel laureate at the place where he had stayed in October 1919 during his first visit to Shillong and North East India.
The celebrations will kick off with the lighting of the centenary lamp at 10am.
Another programme organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Regional Office, Shillong in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture will also be held on the same day at the same venue from 3pm onwards.
