SHILLONG: The city will experience a reggae evening on Saturday with Delhi-based artistes Taru Dalmia aka Delhi Sultanate and Samara Chopra aka Begum X. Shillong Reggae Rising, hosted by Bass Foundation Roots and others, will be held at the basketball court of JN Stadium in Polo.
Bass Foundation Roots is a Delhi-based Jamaican style sound system owned and operated by Dalmia and Chopra. This will be the musicians’ second visit to Shillong.
The artistes have brought their unique sound system to the city by road and promise to make it an experience for Shillongites to remember. “We intend to bring you the true Jamaican sound system party experience… There will 5 hours of non-stop from vinyl records on one of the most powerful and pristine sounding systems in the country, there will be live singing and rapping by Delhi Sultanate and Begum X,” says the Facebook page of Shillong Reggae Rising.
