Programme to enhance knowledge of medical fraternity held in city

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Medical Services Association, East Khasi Hills Unit conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) cum get together of all the doctors of the Association at Hotel Majestic Polo, on Monday.
The programme was conducted in order to enhance and update their knowledge besides bringing the feeling of unity and togetherness among the medical fraternity of the association.
The CME was attended by Dr AmanWar DHS MI cum Advisor to the MMSA Meghalaya, Dr N Wanswett MS GDH cum I/C DHS Research Meghalaya, Dr Yevette Phira, Vice President MMSA Meghalaya, Dr Macmillan Surong, GS MMSA Meghalaya, Jt. Directors, Senior and Junior Doctors from various Specialties working in differenthospitals, PHC’s and CHC’s.
Speaking at the inaugural function participated by doctors from within and outside the District, the DHS MI reiterated the importance of having such CME programme and empowering oneself with more knowledge and skills.
He also applauded the theme of the CME, ‘Unity and Knowledge Breeds Power’ and urged the members to be united as an association and not to forget the central theme of the association which is ‘eternal vigilance’.

Dr Michael Mawlong HOD Clinical Microbiology &Mycobacteriology Department and Dr SantanuDeb HODPediatrics Department Nazareth Hospital Shillon
Also present at the CME among others were Dr Daunipaia Slong Asstt. Prof Forensic & Toxicology Department NEIGRIHMS nd Kamakhya Prasad, Additional SP Crime, Ribhoi District who discussed on the various aspects one should be careful about while handling medico legal cases.
