Ri Bhoi oldest school to celebrate platinum jubilee

SHILLONG: The oldest school in Ri-Bhoi district, Mynken Government Upper Primary School, Bhoirymbong will celebrate its platinum jubilee on December 6 on the premises of the school from 10:30 am in which Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui will be the chief guest.
The school was founded in 1944 by the then Chief of Hima Mylliem.
It was earlier known as Mylliem Syiemship ME School.
After some years, the school incorporated the Basic Education Gandhian Philosophy and later in the year 1955 it was renamed as Government Senior Basic School till its silver jubilee celebration in 1994.
