Mega enrolment camp as part of pension week

TURA: The nationwide celebration of Pension Week and Mega Enrolment camp from November 30 to December 6 began at the Tura Super Market. The programme was organised for the workers of the unorganised sectors.
As part of the programme, awareness and mass enrolment camp was held for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) and the National Pension Scheme by the District Labour department, West Garo Hills, Tura.
It may be mentioned that the scheme is meant for old age protection and social security of unorganised Workers who are mostly engaged as street vendors, brick kiln workers, domestic workers, agriculture workers, ASHA Anganwadi workers, MGNREGA workers, rickshaw pullers, construction workers, SHG members, or in similar other occupants who are between the age of 18 to 40 years whose monthly income is Rs. 15000 or less.  Such workers are eligible for availing the scheme with monthly contribution ranging between Rs 55 to 200 depending on the age at the time of enrolment till they attain the age of 60 years.
ADC and Project Director, WGH C N Sangma, Joint Labour Commissioner and In-charge District Labour Commissioner, M Thabah and others were also present in the programme.
