CRPF cleanliness campaign

SHILLONG: The CRPF North East sector, in compliance with the Swachh Bharat campaign called by the Prime Minister, organised a calendar of activities for 15 days starting December 1 to 15.
The officers and others who participated in the campaign made sure that the benefits reach the society at large, in addition to the CRPF camp areas.
General public and school children of Higher Secondary School, Pynthormukhrah, Budha Vidya Niketan Secondary School and Gandhi Buniadi Secondary School participated in the plogging run which was held at Golf Links, Shillong on December 7.
A plantation drive was also organised during the pakhwada in which large number of trees/sapling were planted inside CRPF Camps at Polo, Bishop Cotton Road and Laitumukrah, on December 9.
All CRPF camp areas have been declared ‘plastic-free zone’.
Wastes generated in the campus areas have been recycled to the maximum possible extent.
Prakash D, North East sector, CRPF, lauded all those who participated in the campaign and informed that such campaigns will be undertaken by CRPF in future as well.
