SHILLONG: Advocate Peter Dohkrut said that the statement made by Congress MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh on the PIL filed against Citizenship Amendment Act has discouraged the people.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that Lyngdoh should not have made statements that dishearten the people.
He said that there are over 60 PILs against the Act and two are from the state of Meghalaya and informed that the Court will hear the petitions on January 22, 2020.
Dohkrut has urged the state government to file a PIL against the CAA.
