NEIAH director calls for research in AYUSH system

SHILLONG: The director, North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Shillong, PK Goswami has emphasised on the need to strengthen collaborative natural products’ research in AYUSH systems owing to the vast biodiversity of medicinal plants in the North East.
Goswami was speaking at the event organised by the NEIAH.
The NEIAH had organised the ‘4th Late Prof (Dr) SP Bhattacharjee Memorial Oration’ on Saturday and the ‘4th Institute Establishment Day’ on Sunday at the institute campus, Mawdiangdiang.
The event was attended by Principal of Government Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Guwahati, Bhabesh Das, as the chief guest; Head of Department of Materia Medica, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, Abhijit Chattopadhya; among others.
Chattopadhya, speaking at the programme, stressed on the importance of loving one’s own systems for excelling as a successful doctor and also highlighted the scope of AYUSH systems in autoimmune disorders.
