Pilot to visit State on Monday

SHILLONG: Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology, Sachin Pilot, will visit Shillong on Monday and hold discussions on specific problems and issues faced by the North Eastern states with regards to implementation of the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) launched by the Union Government in 2006 to provide affordable and accessible services to the citizens of India.

The meeting will be attended by the secretaries of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Department of Telecommunications and Department of Posts.

IT ministers and IT secretaries of all the North eastern states are expected to attend the meeting.

The meeting will also address issues relating to delivery of services by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), BSNL and the Department of Posts.
