Shillong: Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh has decided to take up the issue pertaining to the much-awaited market complex at Malki while saying “the matter is a ‘bit off-line’ as it involves several legal complications.”
Reacting to an official letter sent by the Malki Dorbar Shnong to the Urban Affairs Minister recently, Lyngdoh said action would be taken so that people get the maximum benefits from this complex.
It may be mentioned that the market complex, constructed by the Urban Affairs Department in October 1984 at a total cost of Rs 9.75 lakh, is lying vacant for years now following a financial tangle between the State Government and the Dorbar Shnong.
According to Malki Rangbah Shnong HP Offlyn Dohling, for 24 years now, the Government has kept the issue.
