Govt consent to protect Jaitbynriew not needed: KSU

Mawkyrwat: A rally cum public meeting organised by KSU and FKJGP to protest against CAA and demand for implementation of ILP in state was held at Mawsynram on Thursday.
While speaking at the meeting, Khasi Student’s Union (KSU) president, Lambokstar Marngar said that ‘it is not a sin to take up arms to protect the Jaitbynriew as he said that the union does not need the consent of the government to work for the welfare of the Jaitbynriew.
Marngar added that since the implementation of the CAA in India, the state has witnessed illegal entry of Bangladeshis into Indian territory in which recently they dare to attack and robbed from the Khasis in the border areas.
Meanwhile, FKJGP president, Wellbirth Rani strongly warned the state government for trying to flex muscle with the pressure groups by sending notice to the members and leaders of various NGOs in the state.
“The government is trying to threaten us by issuing notice to members and leaders of various NGOs, but this time let all the jails be full with the members of the Jaitbynriew who have come out to protect it,” Rani said.
HNYF president, Sadon Blah said that the stance of the pressure groups is to keep on protesting against CAA in which he term that the act that will directly attack the Jaitbynriew.
SWKH KSU president, Forwardman Nongrem said if the government brought laws that were injustice to us, then there is no problem for us to fight if needed. He also criticised the state government for its failure to make the District Task Force and District Level Team at the district level functional and to make the Labour Inspector perform their duty. A bike and motor rally was organised from Pongkung to Weiloi to Mawsynram where TULBA Sawsymper unit participated.
