BSF seized contraband items from house in Tripura

Agartala: The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a packet containing 2,340 contraband Yaba tablets worth of Rs 11.70 lakh from the house of one Badsha Miah (34) in Matinagar area of Western Agartala on Wednesday but failed to arrest anybody in connection with the case. A BSF release here on Thursday said that acting on a tip off, jawans deployed in Rayermura BOP raided the houses and found the consignment concealed in a packet. However, the owner of the house managed to flee from the spot. Earlier, Tripura police has disposed Brown Sugar worth Rs 20 lakh at Bodhjungnagar of Agartala. Altogether 470 gram of Brown Sugar has been destroyed by the police after obtaining disposal order from the court. (UNI)
