Heroin seized
Garnika Ch Sangma lodged a complaint that on January 30, acting on input that a suspected drugs supplier, Tilak Rai along with one Evanjelene Thongni were travelling in one Maruti Zen, police intercepted the vehicle at Mawiong By-pass junction. During search, 58.03 grams of suspected heroin was recovered from the hand bag of Thongni.
Fake documents
On January 29 around 4 pm, acting on input, police raided the shop of one Gyan Shrestha at Ladrymbai East Jaintia Hills and seized laptop, hard disks, CPU which were used for making fake documents.
Cattle smuggling
SI SN Biswas, MCP Commander, Sonapur Bridge East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that on January 28 around 7 am, MCP party on duty at Sonapur Bridge detected four trucks, transporting 104 head of cattle, reportedly meant for smuggling.
