Shiva-Ratri
Maha Shiva-Ratri puja will be held at Rilbong Hindu Dharma Sabha Ganesh Mandir on Friday from 7 pm. The Mandir will be opened for devotees from 7 am on February 21 and 22.
Rice, atta released
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills has informed that rice under NFSA and Non NFSA and Tide over wheat for the month of February has been released through their respective Fair Price Shops. Rice under AAY will be distributed at the scale of 35 kgs per card at Rs. 3 per kg, PHH at the scale of 5 kgs per unit at Rs. 3 per kg, TO at the scale of 7.215 kgs per household at Rs. 11.70-Rs. 12 per kg and wholemeal atta at the scale of 5 kgs and 3 kgs for urban and rural respectively Rs. 8 per kg.
Aqua fest
With an aim to boost fish production as well as to generate employment under the Meghalaya State Aquaculture Mission, the department of Fisheries, North Garo Hills district organised the 2nd Aqua Festival at Damsan Riverside, Bangalmura in Resubelpara on Thursday.

Unclaimed body
An unidentified body of a man was recovered by police from Mir Jumla Masid compound under Ampati police station, South West Garo Hills on Wednesday. The body has been kept in the Tura Civil Hospital morgue after conducting necessary inquest and post mortem. The police have urged if any person knowing the deceased to claim the body.
