SHILLONG: The BJP State unit has taken exception to MPCC chief DD Lapang’s recent verbal attack on regional parties terming them as ‘temporary parties’.

“Lapang’s statement is choreographed and only an eyewash in front of the people,” the BJP claimed.

Coming down hard on the Congress leader for his ungainly remark against the regional parties, the BJP has questioned the Congress for playing the blame game even though the State is being run by a coalition government.

“If the regional parties are temporary then why Lapang sought the help of regional parties when he toppled the MPA Government?” BJP Meghalaya general secretary Dipayan Chakraborty questioned on Monday.

“If the Congress understands the principle of coalition they should have pre-poll alliance with the regional parties because both the regional parties as well as the Congress are responsible for the failure of the MUA Government,” Chakraborty stated.
