Tips for farmers during lockdown

Shillong: The state government on Friday informed that all those involved in agriculture and allied sectors are to follow the guidelines issued by the central government to facilitate unhindered activities and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the lockdown period.
The principal secretary to the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare said that farmers must follow precautions and safety measures to prevent the disease from spreading.
Simple measures include social distancing of 3-4 feet, maintaining personal hygiene by washing hands with soap, wearing face mask, protective clothing, cleaning and sanitisation of implements and machinery.
All involved in agriculture and allied activities are advised to follow safety measures and social distancing at each and every step in the entire process of field operations, the notification said.
