Shillong: Police along with the help of local residents of Nongmynsong locality on Friday recovered the bodies of a couple who had committed suicide.
The deceased were identified as Bikran Rumnong (21) and Nisha Kharphuli (19).
The bodies were discovered by local residents on Friday at around 8 pm who immediately informed the family members who then reported the matter to the police.
Sources informed that the deceased were lovers and family problems could have driven them to commit suicide.
It was learnt that the duo had sent SMSes to their respective families informing their decision to commit suicide.
Post mortem of the two bodies, conducted on Saturday morning confirmed that the duo had committed suicide.
