Landslides claim one in State

 NONGSTOIN: Landslides have claimed one person at Kulangbah in West Khasi Hills district on Sunday morning. The three others were injured in the incident.

The victim has been identified as Bankitbor (16) of Pawphlang in West Khasi Hills. One Mrs Genes Dkhar was injured in the incident.

Incessant rain for the last two days had triggered landslides, sources said.

According to unconfirmed sources, four persons were working in a coal quarry at the time of the accident. “One of them is said to be seriously injured while the other is still trapped under the debris,” sources said.
