Assam Rifles organises sanitisation drive in Manipur

SHILLONG: The Mantripukhri (Manipur) Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a sanitisation drive at Vaiphei Veng village of Imphal West district on Sunday. The same was also previously conducted at villages of Nagaram and Koirengei. As part of the drive, the team carried out spraying of disinfectants and decontamination of the market area and other common usage areas of Vaiphei Veng village. The locals were also educated on various precautionary measures like regular hand washing, maintaining basic hygiene and sanitation, maintaining social distance and other precautions to be taken to prevent spread of COVID-19. Earlier, the Chandel Battalion of Assam Rifles provided sewing machines to members of the All Tribe Women Organisation, Nungourok village, Pallel. The sewing machines were provided to the women to address the shortage of masks in the area.
