SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU), South Khasi Hills circle, will soon meet the Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma to apprise him of the incomplete road project – Mawsmai Road-Lad Sohbar-Thangkharang.

In a statement issued here, the general secretary of the KSU circle unit, Edmund Khongsya said that German Technology company which has undertaken the eight road project has left the work incomplete. The work order was dated 2016/2017.

“It is 2020 and the road condition is still bad due to the incomplete work”, he said.

He added that that in July 2019, the Union demanded the Secretary PWD to direct the company to discontinue the road construction and to explore other options but the demand fell on deaf ears.

In view of the apathy of the state government, the union has decided to meet the CM and to send a memorandum to the Centre recording their grievances.
