Shillong: One Anthony L Nongbri (21) from Mawlai Nonglum was arrested by the police on Friday evening for assaulting his girlfriend with sharp weapons, injuring her, after the latter refused to continue the relationship with Nongbri.
Informing this here on Saturday, Police sources said Nongbri refused to accept a break-up from his girlfriend, who is also 21 years old from Wahingdoh resulting in an argument after which Nongbri attacked her with a sharp weapon at Nonglum here at around 9pm on Friday.
The victim has been admitted in Bethany Hospital on the same night and the culprit has been arrested by the police on Friday.
“As of now, nothing could be said in regard to the condition of the victim but she has been given proper medical attention”, sources added.
