State BJP renders aid to stranded Naga students

SHILLONG: State BJP on Saturday extended help to over a thousand Naga students stranded in the state.
The party took the initiative as per the request of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national secretary and North East in-charge, Arvind Damani, to help students stranded in the state.
BJP leader and Health Minister AL Hek accompanied by BJP state president Earnest Mawrie, along with party vice president, Dipayan Chakrabarty, gave away a medium-sized truck full of food grains to the Naga Students Union Shillong for distribution.
Talking to the newsmen on Saturday, Mawrie said that this is a part of the youth wing initiative to provide aid to the students who are stranded and are in need.
Hek, on the other hand, said that earlier they had also distributed food grains and essentials at St Paul’s Seminary, Laimer, Seva Bharati Meghalaya, Meghalaya Bihari Association, among others.
Meanwhile, a member of the Naga Students Union Shillong, Khangking KC, said that over a thousand Naga students, who are stranded in Meghalaya, were going through hurdles in procuring food grains, adding that this initiative is a much-needed help to the students.
Pastor of Ao Baptist Church, Meyu Changkiri, also lauded the initiative of the state BJP and Health Minister AL Hek for reaching out to everyone, especially at this time of crisis.
