Rs 100 fine for person without mask in WKH

NONGSTOIN: Riangdo village in West Khasi Hills has decided to impose Rs 100 fine on those found without face mask.
The village has taken the step in view of the prevailing situation concerning COVID-19 and the advisories issued by the Health department. Aibor Nonglait, Secretary of Riangdo village, said that the village authority had asked the locals to wear face mask and to take appropriate steps to ensure social distancing so that the pandemic of COVID-19 is contained, but only few of them follow the guidelines. He said that the Dorbar will work together with the VDP and the Riangdo Police to ensure that everyone who comes to Riangdo market follows the COVID-19 safety protocol.
Nonglait also said that the Village Dorbar has prohibited smoking and consumption of alcohol in public places and has decided to penalise violators.
