SHILLONG: The distributor of Aquafina packaged drinking water in Shillong has clarified that the bottles to the caterer supplying food to the quarantine centres in the city are not expired products.
In a formal communication to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills on Wednesday, the distributor said that the confusion, which led to the belief that the mineral water bottle was out of date, surfaced because of the gaps between the numbers in the manufacturing date and time label printed on the bottle which might have come closer. “However, it has been rectified in the manufacturing unit, which is owned by Varun Beverages Pvt. Ltd, Guwahati,” the distributor added. The label should be read as DD/MM/YY HH:MM (HH:MM is the manufacturing time of the product,” the statement added.
