Sheryl Lanong of Laitkor Nonglum Mawrie has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Microbiology, from Pondicherry University, Puducherry on her thesis entitled “Bioprospecting of Bat Rhinolophus monoceros gut microbiome by Culture dependent and Metagenomic approaches,” under the guidance and supervision of Professor Joseph Selvin, Department of Microbiology, Pondicherry University, Puducherry. She is daughter of (L) Sunita Lanong and Mangkara Syiem and the granddaughter of (L) AK Roy and Bernadeth Syiem.
