SHILLONG: A section of the candidates, who passed the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) from Sohra Center, has threatened to approach the court if the government fails to make arrangements for the qualified candidates within three days’ time.
The qualified candidates demanded that they should be allowed to submit their application forms to SDSEO, Shillong, in the absence of Government Upper Primary Schools in Sohra.
A candidate who passed the MTET Upper Primary level, on condition of anonymity, said that the qualified candidates from the Sohra centre have been irked over the lackadaisical attitude of the state government for not clarifying to their demands. In a statement issued here, the candidates questioned the state government as to why should it hold the MTET examination at Sohra centre if the area does not have any government Upper Primary schools. “What should we do with the certificate, valid for two years, when we cannot even submit our application in other SDSEO offices?” they said.
