SHILLONG: A day after the state government reduced the extension of services of the chief engineer of State Sports Council W Kharmalki to one year, several prominent NGOs of the State criticised the decision terming it ‘unacceptable’.

According to the KSU president Daniel Khyriem, the government instead of opening doors for employment is blocking it.

He also criticized Deputy Chief Minister BM Lanong for his remark that “experience is sole reason behind the re-appointment of Kharmalki”. FKJGP working president Joe Marwein said there are several engineers in the state who are capable of holding the post of the chief engineer in the State Sports Council.
