AMU students on peace march against Assam violence

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University students on Friday held a ‘Peace March’ to express solidarity with the victims of the recent Assam violence and the killing of members of the minority Muslim community in Myanmar.

The procession started after the Friday prayers at the Jama Masjid..

The students handed over a memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate addressed to the President of India, urging him to take lead in drawing the attention of the international community to the situation in Myanmar.

“If the government does not respond to our pleas then we will intensify our stir,” the memoradum warned. (PTI)
