Centre nominates two cops to IPS

NONGSTOIN: The Centre has nominated two Meghalaya Police Service (MPS) officers from the state to the ranks of Indian Police Service (IPS).
Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills Herbert G Lyngdoh, and SP (F&ES), hailing from Garo Hills, Mary Gnora T Sangma, are the ones to be nominated to the prestigious rank, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The officers will remain in probation for one year as per rule of the Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954 and they will obtain induction training as per sub rule 5(4) of the IPS (Probation) Rules, 1954.
