SHILLONG: The Synjuk ki Nongsynshar Shnong ka Bri u Hynniewtrep (SNSBH) has demanded from the government to make public the magisterial inquiry report regarding the wedding party.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday after meeting Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, secretary of the Synjuk, RL Blah, said, “The magisterial inquiry should be made public. The CM said that he will do so”.
In a letter to Sangma, the Synjuk said the government needs to come clear and make public the report of the magisterial inquiry conducted on the case, including the names of the 41 people to regain public trust and support.
Blah said that it is baffling as to how 41 people attended the marriage as passes were issued only for 5 persons and asserted that the people need to know where the lapses are.
He said that getting the list of the names of the 41 persons is necessary so as to warn the respective localities.
Speaking about the entry and exit points in Jaintia Hills, Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi, Blah said the entry- exit points are overcrowded by the number of people entering the state, especially at Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi district.
“The stress is high. Those who man the area are people and not robots. There should be a shift system for the staff. If there is not much manpower, then the government can look for an agency to monitor the situation,” he said.
The Synjuk further urged the government to take up the COVID-19 matter at NEIGRIHMS on a war-footing so that the action taken by the hospital will at least be on a par with the expectation of the government and the people.
