SHILLONG: The Baghmara Nokma Association has called for action against a man hailing from Assam who has been reportedly staying in Baghmara from April 28 onwards.
It may be mentioned that Assam, of late, has seen an incessant surge in COVID-19 cases.
“We have submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner in May and a copy of which was also submitted to Superintendent of Police who are still remaining indifferent despite the gravity of the case in violating the lockdown guidelines,” the association said in a letter to state Home Minister Lakhmen Rymbui.
According to the letter, the man, Suman Ali, is a motor mechanic and is a resident of Goalpara from Assam.
The association has also demanded that a case should be registered against Ali.
