SHILLONG: The North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA) has sought the intervention of the President of India in promoting eligible teachers under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS).
The NEHUTA said that the Vice Chancellor of the university, SK Srivastava has selectively promoted the teachers and ignored the rest.
The association alleged that the ‘One-Man Committee’ for correction of dates of eligibility recommended some favourite teachers, while leaving rest in the lurch.
“Some teachers are promoted, but on a wrong date and the procedure for correction of the date remains incomplete and have been reportedly kept in abeyance for indefinite period by SK Srivastava by choosing neither to even reply nor even give any reason for keeping it arbitrarily unresolved,” the NEHUTA said in a statement. The VC has also remained non-responsive to the appeals of the affected teachers, the statement added.
