SHILLONG: The A.chik Youth Welfare Organisation (AYWO) of Phulbari branch has extended its support to the A.chik Youth Movement for the Betterment of the Society (AYMBS) as the latter had lodged complaint about cattle smuggling from Phulbari to Bangladesh through Assam.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the organisation said, ‘We extend our support to AYMBS for bringing to light cattle smuggling racket that has been operating through AMPT road for a long time. Therefore, we oppose this kind of illegal activity operating with the help of some individuals and government officials. Action should be taken against those involved in the racket. Inquiry and action should be taken as per the law,’ it concluded.
