DC to recommend braveheart for award

SHILLONG: The North Garo Hills District Administration has decided to recommend the name of Mima Patiasa K Sangma for bravery award. While saving a friend who was drowning, the 13-year-old Sangma sacrificed her life.
Deputy Commissioner of North Garo Hills, SC Sadhu said the administration is planning to recommend the name of Sangma for the bravery award this year.
“She has done a selfless act of sacrifice,” Sadhu said.
It was on August 2 that the girl, hailing from Resubelpara, saved her friend from falling into a gorge at Resu Daram. However, she lost her life as she fell into the water and drowned.
