Marak, who had recently resigned from the Congress, would look to cash in on the 9,300 Garo voters in the Rambrai-Jyrngam Assembly constituency The total number of voters in the constituency is 22,300.
It may be mentioned that Dr Marak was expelled from the Congress informally following her absence at a party meeting in Rambrai.
