SHILLONG: As the COVID-19 cases in the state continue to see an upward trend, the East Khasi Hills District Administration on Friday declared more containment zones in the city.

In another other, the EKH District Administration has declared Quarter No A4, Quarter No A5, Quarter No A6, Quarter No A7, Quarter No A8 and Quarter No A9 of Municipal Quarter at Bishop Cotton Road as containment areas. The order came into effect starting August 27.
According to the directive, entry-exit movements have been debarred, except for health authorities and other select officials.
Containment zone tag removed
Furthermore, in a separate order, the EKH District Administration has removed Musa Compound at Jhalupara from the purview of the containment tag.
The order comes, according to the statement, in the wake of contact-tracing status and the test reports of the high-risk contacts.
“However, the area from Jhalupara Community Hall till Gopal Ji compound and Maya Compound, Jhalupara, will still remain as containment area,” the order said.
The EKH District Administration has also given the green light to RB Collection Store at GS Road, Police Bazaar, to resume operations with strict adherence to government SOPs.
