Land survey Act to be implemented

SHILLONG: The CEM of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Titos Chyne said the implementation of Section 3 of Meghalaya Land Survey Records Preparation Act, 1980 will start in the inter-state border areas.
He said that the state government in the Section 3 has empowered the District Council to conduct a survey, demarcation, records for lands falling within the boundary of District Council.
“We have decided to start the implementation of the Act as per the Section 3 in the inter-state border areas so that we will get the proper records of land especially in disputed areas in the border. This will help to affirm our authority in the border dispute”, he said.
On the other hand, he said that the KHADC will implement the different MDC schemes.
He said that the implementation monitoring committee to work out the guidelines and the amount and will make the necessary announcement through the MDCs.
He also said that the Market department will implement the Khasi Hills District Establishment and Management and Control of Market Regulation, Act 1979 fully and the rules will be notified by the department regarding the markets within the jurisdiction of the District Council.
