IMPHAL: A combine team of Manipur police and the Army nabbed two individuals along with contraband drugs at Tengnoupal in Chandel district and Lilong, Thoubal district, on Wednesday .Official sources here on Thursday said Manipur Police personnel and troops of 28 and 29 Assam Rifes launched an operationWednesdayt and nabbed the duo from a van.About 3,90,000 Mucoson tablets, one Ticopol tablet, two strips of ASMACOLD tablet and Rs 20,52,000 were recovered from them. Heroin seized in Guwahati
GUWAHATI: Contraband heroin worth crores of rupees in the international market was seized on Thursday from a Manipur-origin man here.Sleuths of the CID seized the contraband, weighing about one kg, from the man in Bhangagarh area of the city.The man claimed to be from Thoubal in Manipur.The heroin is estimated to be worth at least Rs 1 crore in the international market. GANGTOK:The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) on Thursday said that the land acquisition process for the Sikkim university was going on at the right pace.SDF party Spokesman P D Rai denied the allegations of opposition parties and Sikkim university chancellor Mahindra P Lama about delay in acquisition of land for the university at Yangang in South Sikkim and claimed that land acquisition process is going on at right place and in right direction.
