SHILLONG: The BSF on Wednesday apprehended one trained hardcore PLA cadre identified as Athokpam Surchandra Singh from Pyrdiwah while he was trying to sneak into Bangladesh.
The apprehended cadre is the area secretary of Imphal (West) division and he underwent training in 1993 in the 9th batch of PLA.
During preliminary questioning, he informed that he is a resident of Imphal and he was involved in organizational work of the outfit in Bangladesh.
According to BSF, he had entered into India in December last year. They added that BSF sleuths recovered an amount of Rs 8735 as well as a mobile phone with an Indian sim card. He has been handed over to Pynursula police station.
